Numerous applications associated with maneuvering target tracking can be found for both military and civil purposes. The researchers all over the world have been engaged in the area, and many plentiful and substantial results have been acquired. Due to more and more complex environment and the great change of maneuvering characteristics, more sophisticated tracking systems are desired for various applied systems. So the study on maneuvering target tracking (MTT) based on the contribution of other researchers is necessary.Fristly, this article introduces the recent research of the MTT and analizes some mathematic models of it. Ofter that, the article describes the steps of the MTT and gives a detailed arithmetic of track association and fusion filter. Aiming at the problem existed in the MTT, professionalist give some resolvation. On the basis of previous methods, this article gives arithmetic of MTT and has comfired the accuracy of it.In the facet of simulation, the article give a implement plan on the basis of analizing of the thesis and method of MTT and on the background of the distributed target tracking system.Firstly, it pre-processes the data collected by radars, using insert-extrapolation to make the timers of these data matched. Secondly, the system will use track-conjunction filtering to complete the association of the tracks. Finally, the extended Kalman filter with a self-adaptive filtering algorism, which is used to modify square-difference of accelerations based on the current statistics results, is adopted in track-merging. The system simulation shows the divergence in track-merging could be better solved and higher data merging accuracy can be achieved in the proposed approach.
