In the field of geophysical and information technology, scientific visualization technology presents a large number of non-intuitive, abstract or non-visible data produced in the scientific calculation, using graphics and images. It provides good conditions for the next data interpretation and analysis. Therefore, the realization of scientific visualization is an important research direction.The design of 3D seismic data visualization software is based on the needs of geophysical workers, on the base of 3D seismic data processing, using rich graphic and image functions of modern computer, in order to display the 3D seismic data obtained, 3D visualization graphics display software. This software is the method and visualization software, researched and developed in Qt and OpenGL graphics software development environment, with a series of functions.Through the research, the paper has completed the following achievements:(1) Research OpenGL graphics library for graphics operations, and realize data visualization. Qt realizes user interface design for interaction with users.(2) Implement different display formats, and highlight the features of the data volume information.(3) Combine Direct Volume Rendering with 3D seismic data, and show the internal details of seismic data.(4) Optimize direct volume rendering techniques, in combination of 3D seismic data features.
