A Research On Software Project Tracking And Oversight Method Based On CMM/CMMI

The effective management of software process is a practical way to solve the software crisis, and Software Project Tracking And Oversight is very important and pivotal to raise the management of software process. The software process models as CMM/CMMI are used to instruct the management of software process widely, but they are concept models only that provide the directed principles for which process improves, not related to the realization, short of operatability. Therefore, studying how to operate the tracking and oversight of project concretely in software enterprises is very meaningful. Based on the CMM theory, metrics model and metrics technology methods, we carries out thorough investigation and discussion to the methods of the Software Project Tracking And Oversight to provide effective direction and help for the implementation of software process in enterprises, guarantee software product mass and improve the software process ability.According to analyze the actual implementation situation, the paper proposes a complete implementation model: SPTO's process model based on measurement. Surrounding this model, we thoroughly study the implementation methods of Software Project Tracking And Oversight. Then, taking an actual system as example, we carry on the tracking and oversight effectively to the project according to the model and methods, confirm them powerfully. In the process, we make forward improvement as follow:1. In ascertaining target aspect, the paper combines the GQ(I)M model and CMM, proposes the GQ(I)M-CMM model and carries out formalized definition. Through analysing the metrics target of SPTO, we ascertain metrics element effectively.2. In the field of data analysis technology, we imports the methods EVA and SPC used in other fields into SPTO, and makes corresponding improvement to EVA combining with the features of software. Another, this paper compares various analysis methods and imports the sutiable occasion for them. It can provide references for enterprises.3. In the controling of deviation, the directors don't have effective methods and decide mostly by intuition when the deviation appears. The paper gives out a flow about the optimized controlling of progress deviation under the standared software process and nonstandared software process and produces the related definition and algorithm for the model to distribute fund optimizely most and raise the rate of progress when the deviation appears.Based on the research mentioned above, we designs a prototype system SPTOPMS(SPTO Process Management System) based on the B/S structure by using c# language on the . net platform, implements the two important activities about data gathering and data analyzing. It's the base for the automation of the SPTO process.
