With the rapid development of electronic and manufacturing technology, ARM and microcomputer has been widely used in automatic control fields by its high reliability, high performance-to-price ratio and high integration, which provided the condition to improve the control system of draw texturing machines. This paper mainly researched the application of embedded technology in the control system of draw texturing machines, realized the commanding technique such as multi-channel temperature control, multi-channel appointed length and weight, supervisory control module, CAN control network and primarily tested the system.The mainstream control system of draw texturing machines generally based on the PLC control scheme. The scheme used the PLC expansion module massively which caused high cost, intricacy wiring, inconvenient maintains. In view of the above insufficiency, this paper has systematically analyzed the control system of FK-1000 draw texturing machines firstly. And then associated with current advanced embedded technology, the field communication and so on, the paper put forward a new control scheme of draw texturing machines based on the embedded technology. This scheme used the embedded processor to complete the control demand of draw texturing machines with its high performance, special-purpose and rich resources on chip. It also intended on developing its stability, enhancing real-time ability and reducing the cost. The new scheme used ARM as the supervisor of the system, SOC microcomputer as the microprocessor of the intelligent unit, CAN fieldbus as the communication mode. According to the modulation and the distributed control system construction, the system was divided to five modules: the supervisory control module, the temperature control module, the appointed length and weight module, the transmission module, the accessorial control module.The paper not only theoretically analyzed the feasibility of this scheme but also completed the software and hardware design of supervisor, the software and hardware design of temperature control unit, the software and hardware design of appointed length and weight uint. Finally it has completed the system test. During the design, the article has confirmed the compatibility between the 3.3V transceiver and the 5V transceiver in the CAN fieldbus. At the same time, it has also confirmed the compatibility between the internal crystal oscillator and the external crystal oscillator which is used to be the base source of the baud rate.The completed design indicated that the scheme based on embedded technology could fulfill the function which is necessary in draw texturing machines control and it was feasible. Moreover, it could make up the insufficiency of the scheme based on PLC control. However, this system has been designd and completed experimentally. The following work will mainly improve and develop the control system according to the function need of the practical application in the technics as well as some detail problem.
