With the rapid development of computer, network and communications technology, electronic commerce has a fine threshold and rapid popularization in the world. As the core factor and crucial process, e-payment is more and more attached importance to by the global banks and financial organizations and has long time been a primary bottle neck hindering the rapid growth of e-commerce. How to realize the secure payment in the insecure network environment, has become not only the focus which people keep close watch on, but also an important subject to be devoted deep and thorough research. As one of the popular e-payment technique in internet, e-cash has many merits other means of e-payment such as e-check and credit card don't possess and is more and more attached importance to by the industry and the learning, therefore it has become the primary technology for e-commerce.Firstly, the purpose of this thesis gives a comprehensive and extensive discussion on e-cash for its basic theory, status in quo and history of e-cash theory, and international development of its actual implementation. Secondly, the author introduces the analysis and study on some e-cash systems proposed recently. In the end, the purpose of this thesis gives emphasis to the author's opinions and conclusions in the process of studying e-cash.The author of this thesis made some good attempts and explorations in e-cash theory and applications. The following are the main results:1. The author of this thesis not only gives a systemic summarization about those proposed e-cash protocols, but also carries on the study to three kinds of electronic cash schemes of classic and points out their advantages and shortages, and he also carries on the analysis to two kinds of electronic cash systems proposed recently and points out the shortages of them in the safety, efficiency etc;2. The author of this thesis proposes a new blind scheme based on bilinear pairings and constructs a new off-line e-cash system using the proposed blind scheme;3. The author of this thesis gives two new multi-bank e-cash systems based on proxy signature. One raises the efficiency of the bank through the method that imbed the period of validity and the face value of e-cash and the customer can withdraw arbitrarily the e-cash of the amount of money; The other is realized in the elliptic curve, it takes full advantage of the proxy signature and elliptic curve and raises the efficiency of the system;4. The author of this thesis gives a new kind of interest countable e-cash scheme. It overcomes the shortages of the proposed schemes and has the higher safety and efficiencies.
