Design And Implement-oriented Virtual Collaborative Learning Platform Of VRML-based System In Multi-user Environment

Modern learning theories emphasizes that learning is an interaction of human beings and the environment, while learning must be based on the presentation of real learning circumstances. Virtual Reality technology is another brand-new technology after Multimedia technology and network technology, playing a irreplaceable role in creating the virtual learning circumstances.Collaborative Learning is a kind activity organized to promote effective learning and to cultivate Collaboration among them. In a Collaborative Learning process, learners share information and recourses and take on learning tasks together with a Collaborative attitude. So far, most of the VRML-based Systems are in WEB form, that is, adding function modules like BBS, on-line communication and so on, but these ways of communication are not plentiful enough in Collaborative Learning, which is not beneficial for presentation of real learning scene with difficulties in clear description.In the former half of this paper, the author, from the current status of E-Learning, illustrated the positive meaning of introducing Virtual Reality technology in the teaching of all disciplines. Then, with instructional ideas of constructivist learning theories and learning community theories, he analyzed their basic ideas and typical teaching methods and took them as his fundamental academic basis. In the latter part, the author put his stress on analyzing some key technologies of distributed virtual reality systems, such as server circumstances, tenant circumstances, international perception and manipulating perception with the introduction of the basic conceptions of the Virtual Reality technology and realized the collaborative learning multi-tenants in the same virtual scene through the network on the Virtual Collaborative Learning Platform of VRML-based System in Multi-user Environment.
