As the kernel software of many spatial applications, Spatial Database must have the high-powered ability of storing and managing spatial information. It should describe and organize the correlated data efficiently, and rely heavily on the implementation of the spatial analysis.NHSpatial is the Spatial DBMS prototype developed by NUAA, which use Realms as the representation model. In this system , there are 3 spatial data types named Points, Lines and Regions, which are upbuild by point sequence and Halfsegment sequence.According to this prototype, the spatial analytic ability depends on the actual spatial operational functions. In this article, we discuss two kinds of topologic operational method, which are merging traverse and plane sweep. We also dissertate the parallel plane sweep algorithm, and put forward the idea of two phase partition.NHSpatial extend from AMOSII which was developed by Uppsala University Sweden. In our system, user can describe the spatial object by a series of basic spatial elements. The SAVL, which is used by operational functions, will be build or freed upon the dispatch control center. At the end of this article, we look forward some new technologies about spatial DBMS, such as the new spatial representation model and the aspect of all-scale using in SDBMS.
