As an important part of information technology in enterprise, PLM has applied in modern manufacturing step by step. PLM can improve productivity, reduce operating costs and respond market fleetly. It can also manage, share or query product data of some idiographic automobile in their lifecycle by information integration and product data management in automobile manufacturing.Firstly, the thesis brought forward a PLM system frame based on an uniform data model for integration correlative product data information effectively of CAD, CAM, CAPP, ERP and so on in automobile lifecycle. And then, we analyzed and discussed the meta-model UML and repository of the model.Secondly, the thesis analyzed and researched product configuration management that is a part of PLM system. Organizing, sharing and retrieving information on the field of product configuration become hot fields of research in current advanced manufacturing technology. Through semantically expression for product information, the system can automatically or semi-automatically infer and evaluate the process of product configuration and its results. Thus, products can be configured, retrieved searched and managed in more effective and accurate way.At last, the thesis researched on semantic query in product configuration. A querying frame of configuration is given. To implement this frame, we use product configuration ontologies and rule restriction set, upon which a DL reasoner and a rule reasoner are in use. With the experiment, the correctness and validity of the frame are tested, some new techniques of Semantic Web such as graph match and RDQL etc were used for these purpose.
