With the fast development of wireless communication technology, people are eager to access information, compute and communicate with each other in anytime anywhere. The IEEE 802.16 series standards which are studied hard by now could meet the requirement completely. In modern times, telecommunications have to face more challenges and chances, the wireless networks with characteristics of infrastructure and shift-networking could be used in the special environment such as battlefield,emergency processing,management of forests,tracing of rare animals and temporary office, etc.This paper is studied based on IEEE 802.16 standard and the technology of Ad Hoc, aiming at the project requirement of the wireless digital image communication system in 350MHz——the video and audio communication between centre car and mobile terminals in emergency condition, we should propose an effective MAC layer protocol to implement the expected target.This paper made use of the NS-2 simulation tool with the PHY specification and run simulation of proposed MAC protocol to get the simulation result.
