Design And Implementation Of CXML Support In VAP System

As the development of telecom services has gone into mature phase, value-added services are more and more important, voice value-added services have become the focus of telecom operators and service providers. Voice value-Added service Platform (VAP) has the superiority over traditional Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems, but its capability of call control is limited. Added the support of Call Control XML (CCXML), its capability of call control will be enhanced and can support more services.The author of this thesis participated in the research and development for the VAP system, as well as the design and development for the CCXML support in VAP during his postgraduate study. This paper is a brief review of his work over the past 2 years.This article is divided into six chapters, as follows.The 1^st chapter describes the background of the VAP project and CCXML, and the relationship between them. The VAP system is n unified service platform based on VXML language. CCXML is a call control language released by W3C (World Wide Web Consortium). With the support of CCXML, the capability of call control in VAP will be enhanced and can support more services.The 2^nd chapter describes the change of archietecture of VAP system with the import of CCXML, and the structure of CCXML supporting function. It then describes the modules and interfaces involved.The 3^rd chapter is a brief description of CCXML parser. First, a brief analysis of various modules and their functions is presented. Then the design and analysis of main modules are described in details. The 4^th chapter describes other modules involved in CCXML support, including Java Script support, document fetch function, and the module of connection, conference and dialog, which perform call control under the control of CCXML parser.During the import of CCXML support, some other parts in VAP system have been changed, which is described in Chapter 5.Chapter 6 analyzes the difficulties in desigin and implementation of CCXML support, and presents the solutions.
