Traffic Monitoring And Its Applications Analyzing On Network

The process of collecting, measuring, characterizing and analyzing of the network flow data is involved in the research on the technology of flow monitor and analysis. This research could be useful to control and optimize the network and to enhance its reliability and security. And it is helpful to plan and design the network effectively. Meanwhile , the status of network user and the distribution of hot business could be known by the analyzing of the network flow data; the analysis also provide the important basis for the development of new data business, improve the service level for customers, and meet all kinds of data demands of the customer's.The monitor of network flow plays an very important role in the flow project; and the statistical information of various flow obtained through the flow monitor is the foundation of applications and researches on the network management, the analysis of network service, the monitor of security and error , and the net work charges and so on. More, the technology of flow monitor and analysis has become a focus that operators pay close attention to when the security situation of the network has got more and more serious with the growth of network flow sharply in recent years.This paper starts from the problems of network plan, security, and performance analysis and customer service, faced in the development of data business by operators. And it discussed the content of four respects, namely, on historically accumulating of the daily flow data, understanding of the user how to use the network, monitoring and warning of the unusual flow, and monitoring the business quality. Moreover, we have analyzed and compared the four kinds of technologies on the protocol based on SNMP/RMON, the probe of gathering data, the instrument of protocol analysis, and Netflow/sflow through obtaining flow information, information transmission and technical index and function. Finally, the standard of the flow monitor concerned and systematic index of the flow monitor has been discussed in this paper.We have made the flow monitor and analysis of the telecommunication broadband network of Nanning by arrangement of the system of flow monitor on the switch of the assemble layer in metropolitan area network (MAN) of Nanning. These following jobs have been also finished, such as analysis of the flow situation, the components of flow protocol, the components of flow business and the direction of the flow, doing the flow rank of the host computer in the network, searching out the typical business focuses, and examining and locating at the unusual flow. We have the flow pattern of MAN of Nanning and discovered that the new change tendency of the flow pattern in internet and the concrete influence on the data network, which provide the important and scientific data foundation for data network plan and long-term healthy development.
