With the high-speed development of information technology, Internet applications increase in all aspects and thus lead network overloading and extensive traffic management. There is an increasing urgent demand for intensive management of network. Therefore, it is a hot issue to improve fine division of internet and make full use of internet resources. Certain limitations reside in traditional internet traffic identification and control system as the identification method they use cannot keep up with development pace of internet technology and thus leading operators are not able to capture network dynamics and network management quickly. Therefore, based on DPI technology application layer traffic monitoring system could be pioneering to achieve fine management of internet traffic.Aimed to meet the demand of identifying internet traffic of being efficient, accurate and real-time, we have successfully developed application layer traffic monitoring system on the basement of traditional traffic monitoring system. The new system, which incorporates DPI and DFI technology, could meet the demand of market through realizing refinement operations of internet. This system consists of following modules: traffic data collection and pre-processing module, which pre-protocol processes the incoming data packets; matching library module, which mainly provides all the software feature information for engine identification module; engine identification module, whose major responsibility is to match loaded matching library and identify specific protocol; control module, whose main responsibility is to send strategy to downstream module; upgrading module, which centers on upgrading files of matching library and engine code. This system adopts advanced technology to improve the structure and optimize algorithms and thus upgrade the matching library. Further, this system is also upgraded on specific aspects of control module such as blocking and limiting traffic. In the end, this traffic monitoring system has been rigorously tested and the testing results are also analyzed.After testing, the upgraded matching library can support the further identify to the internal traffic of the APP, and the application consumed traffic was targeted at the achieving small functions. Meanwhile, on the basis of fine traffic identification, application within the fine flow control can be achieved. And compared to traditional traffic monitoring system, the system can identify and control traffic further, and it may facilitate the network resource management. This shows that this system can achieve the intelligent and refinement management of Internet resources.
