With improvement of life, traditional manual switches and manually dimming systems are unable to meet the needs of a comfortable life. For these reasons, a wireless lighting system is designed.The system with its simple operation and intelligent design can create a warm and comfortable environment to a whole family. And it greatly enhances the quality of life.In the thesis, Centralized control system of wireless lighting is designed by the method of combination of wireless and wire communication. The hardware of the lighting system is made of three functional modules: a remote controller module, a central controller module and many lighting controller modules. The remote controller transmits RF signals, and the central controller receives RF signals and communicates with the lighting controllers through RS-485 bus. The addressed lighting controller control lamps based on received RF signals.In the thesis, the 32-bit ARM microcontroller LPC2106 of Philips was selected as the wireless lighting system core chip, and the hardware platform of the wireless lighting system was set up.And the ways in development and debug of embedded software based on the hardware platform are introduced in detail. It is proved that the lighting controller could realize 3-level dimming by PWM dimming method. The remote controller transmits RF signal which is not limited by rooms, and controls lamp on-off and dimming in any direction.
