Technology of biological recognition has been wildly used in nowadays world. Technology of iris recognition is a technology of biological recognition developed since 1990s'. People gradually attach weight to the technology of iris recognition because of its high reliability, low ratio of error reception and error rejection when comparing with other technology of biological recognition. As an important characteristic of people identification, iris owns the qualities of invariability and discrepancy, and there are no totally same irises in the world, even the iris of the left eye and right eye from the same person. The detail and the texture are random generated, different people are different, so these characteristics are quite stable. In addition, in the process of iris recognition, there is no need to touch the recipients, therefore iris recognition is an ideal technology of biological recognition, maybe in not far future it will take the place of other technology of biological recognition.Iris identification is an innovation technology, which refers to many fields like modern digital signal processing, pattern identification and image processing. In recent years, iris identification is developing fast in aspects of research and application, and showing wild respect and huge marketing, which is one of forward topics about international computing application.Iris is a circle part position between black pupil and white sclera, which showing a irradiated structure from inside edge to outside edge. Iris is composed of rather complicated fibrous structure, including some detailed frame across like speckle, filament, coronal, stripe, recess which generate randomly when we were born , and is unchangeable though our lifetime. Therefore iris recognition has the highest accuracy of all biological recognition.In this article, I've first introduced in more detail about the development and application of the technology of iris recognition, discussed its virtue by comparing with other technologies of biological recognition and introduced the history and the development of iris recognition technology home and abroad. System of iris recognition includes two whole parts: iris image capture equipment and algorithm of iris recognition, which specifically corresponding to two basic problems image capture and pattern matching. How to capture high-quality iris image is the chief task during the process of iris recognition, and is also one of the most hard-solute technologies. Combining with capturing images accurately and using reasonable algorithm of iris recognition, we could last get a satisfied result, while algorithm of iris recognition is the corn of the whole system. In the second and the third part of the article, based on these two basic problems I've given a detailed description of the system of iris recognition based on TMS320DM642DSP and a hardware and software solution, and analyzed the image capture facility and theory; deeply researched on the algorithm proposed by Daugman, and simulate it with MATLAB language, in addition, I put forwards some optimal thoughts in aspects of prepared processing of images, the structure of multiple two-dimensional Gabor filter, parameter choice and the computation of Hamming Distance on the basic of the existed popular algorithm, and confirmed by the experiment, these thoughts and improved way wouldn't impact the last result, have fast computing speed, the characteristics picked up are better the normal.
