Recently,along with the fastest development of computer and communications technology, especially rapid popularization of Internet and syncretism acceleration of 3C(Computer Communication &Consume Electric),micromation and specialization become the main developing trend,at the same time embedded products turn into the mainstream of information industry. The techniques of embedded system became the most popular technique in electronic realm currently, which have already broadly been applied in the military national defense, consume electronics, network correspondence,industry control etc.this paper proposes a video capturing and processing method based on a 32-bit CPU by an overview of the development of video signal capturing and processing technology. This set of hardware system can be applied in LCD manifestation, the desktop video pattern, multimedia teaching, digital television, picture handle, screen phone and collecting video and frequency signal, and the outdoor image collection etc.This image acquisition system use S3C44B0X which base on ARM for its core processing, make use of the CMOS image sensor to collect images., It stores the image data for the moment With FIFO,resolves the rate problem between ARM and the sensor. In this system, high performance as well as low power consumption and low cost about FPGA/CPLD are taken advantage of. And it transplantes uClinux in software platform and presents the design process of drive under uClinux platform. This set of equipment combines functions of image acquisiting ,image displaying and network transferring and has an excellent expansibility which easy to be developed secondly.This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapters introduces the background and history of image acquisition system; The second chapters brings the population design plan of image acquisition system ,it is described the hardware system and software system;The third chapter introduces that the hardware designs of the ARM image acquisition system mainly , including the design's realizition of all modules, capability of the system and the design of circuit which owing to high speed circuit. In chapter four,it studys the software design based on uClinux. mainly including the initializtion of the image sensor and collecting procedure ,the initializtion of the LCD controller and displaying procedure,the initializtion of the ethernet controller.and realizes video supervising system based on network. In the last section, it summarize the content of this paper, and point the drawbacks and something needed to improve. Finally, we propose the further work.
