In the modern wireless communication system, more and more low-profile antennas appear due to their characteristics, such as lower profile, less wind resistance and easier to conform with carriers. However, very few people pay attention to the low-profile antenna or the low-profile antenna array on a faceted conducting body in home. In this thesis, theoretical formulas are made and characteristics of low-profile antennas attached to a conducting polyhedron are analyzed deeply. When the electrical dimensions of the carrier are only a few wavelengths, the mutual coupling and influence between antennas with the carrier are very obvious, so we must model antennas and the carrier precisely and analyze them together. For this case, the method of moment(MoM) is most suitable because of its accuracy and generality. This dissertation makes deeply insight to the low-profile antenna on the conducting body with wire-to-surface model by MoM. The author's major contributions are as follows: Firstly, The Galerkin's method solution for electromagnetic scattering or radiating problems is gave with a more accurate and efficient singularity technique by the Rao-Witon-Glisson(RWG)vector basis function. And then, the wire-to-surface model is used to deduce formulations which are suitable to the thin antenna attached to arbitrary shaped bodies. Lastly, low-profile ring antennas mounted on the conducting cube are studied through writing programming code and some useful conclusions are got.The research in this thesis is valuable to the low-profile conformal antenna array design on a complex target, vehicle, warship, aircraft and so on.
