As thebackbone bandwidth increase dramatically, a single processor can't satisfythe performance requirement of capturing and analyzing IP packets of the high-speedlink. A layer of equipment is required between the link and the single processor, whichassigns captured packets to multi-processors. So, it's rather important to balance theloadformulti-processors.Thereisawaytobalancetheloadbyhardware,whichisslowtoupdatewithbad expansibilityand flexibility.Thispaperanalyzesand summarizes the technologiesofloadbalancing,andmakesa deep research on its algorithms. After that, the paper introduces several traditionalalgorithms, static hash and dynamic hash with flow volume in detail, andanalyzes theircharacteristics. Furthermore, by statistically analyzing the field characters of IP head,this paper proposed a dynamic hash algorithms based on high-speed link, the RandomDynamic Hash. Based on this algorithm, the Next Generation General BalanceControllerisdesigned,which cancontrol manykinds ofmulti-routers tobalanceloadatthe same time, including Cisco, Juniper and Alcatel. It can also observe the effect ofloadbalancing andregulate thebalancestrategytogetbetterresult.
