Mobile satellite communication system (MSCS) is one of important ways to satisfy the communication needs of mobile users and outlying area.With development of the technology of satellites. more and more satellites' being sent optical communication between to the space, free-space optical communication between satellites is used in satellite constellation; that is going to be an trend of satellite communication technology. This paper take further study technology of ISL, Based on the simulation software of the satellite communication system of STK .In this thesis, firstly in Chapter 1, we describe the characteristics, kinds, and frequency of ISL. the status on the field of ISL on several developed countries are introduced, as well as the development and basement in our country, it is shown that developing and establishing of ISL is in demand in our country.I analyzed circulating orbit of satellite then, this paper analyses the mathematical formula for performance of ISLs'of Non-geostationary satellite communication systems, including the varying rate and span of azimuth, elevation and distance. Then the analysis of the law that performance of ISLs'change with the parameters of the satellite constellation is presented. Associating with practical system, the simulation results of the performance of ISLs of LEO and MEO are also given in this paper.Finally , inter-satellite laser link of Inmarsat-ICO constellation system has been designed. the received power and bit error ratio are calculated and analyzed, The results show that the parameters can meet the demand of the bit error ratio.And a comparison between two-communication system modalation schemes on-off keying(OOK), pulse position modulation (PPK) is presented. From the analysis it is clear that pulse position modulation (PPK) more adapt to inter-satellite laser link.
