With the rapid development of the Internet, researches on engineering application of the Web database technology are going further on a more and more widespread basis. By combining a database with the Web, the Web database technology realizes a dynamic interaction and the parties sharing the information.Focusing on the application of the Web database, through the introduction of query system architecture and Web database-access technology, the KETD Multidatabase Query System is implemented in this paper. The major results of the paper include:1.Analyzing Web database-access technology characteristic and the working principles of the Client/Server and Browser/Server structures. On that basis, a detailed study has been made on the Web database-access technology including CGI, Specialized API, ASP and ODBC, and a Web Database Solution based on ASP and ODBC has been expatiated forward in this paper;2.With Web database technology, the KETD Multidatabase Query System has been established. For the establishment and implementation of the data center of the system, some trial solutions, e.g., the definition of the Web menu made by the database, a random leaf printing or online printing of the database contents achieved through the combination of Web and VisualBasic, have been made, making the system easy to operate.3.Based on the designing of the KETD Multidatabase Query System, from the angle of Web application and database, the safety of system application has been dealt with in detail in this paper.With multidatabase access to the system, new ideas and suggestions have been made in the paper on technology innovation and future expansion of the functions of the system.
