Multidatabase System Integrating Platform CMDatabase

With the development of distributed computing and network technology, the traditional database technology can not meet the need of data sharing and interoperation. At the same time, the existing databases can not be discarded totally, so developing a multidatabase system that can access and process the data of multiple pre-existing databases is a necessary trend. A multidatabase system(MDBS) is a system that supports data sharing and integrating of a collection of pre-existing heterogeneous, distributed local database systems. Because of the heterogeneity, distribution and autonomy of MDBS, the system architecture query processing and schema integration of the MDBS is much different compared with conventional database. This paper is organized as follows: Chapter 1 introduces the development of MDBS. It also gives a definition and the characteristics of a multidatabase system. Chapter 2 analyses and compares the system architecture of the other MDBS and talk about the architecture about CMDatabase. Chapter 3 presents a method to represent schema architecture and schema mapping, prescribe an algorithm for decomposition tree. Chapter 4 describes the implementation framework of multidatabase query processing, The implementation algorithm of query decomposition,approaches of query in the CMDatabase will be addressed. Finally, conclusions and the future work will been given.
