The Integration Of The Heterogeneous Information Source

With the sustaining development of the scale of company, the scale of company's information system also increases. Influenced by the different phases of the data management system, technical factors and etc, even in a single company, some departments themselves will become a data source. And each data source has its own framework;all of these data constitute the heterogeneous data source of the company. Data integration is the demand of coordination between not only different enterprises but also different departments inside itself. The goal is to realize data sharing between heterogeneous data sources, so as to utilize resources effectively and gain high performance of the whole application system.When we integrate a heterogeneous database sources system, a computer must be developed and several challenges must be overcome to establish such a system: heterogeneity, integrality, semantic conflict and so on. Against above problems, we first introduce the state of research for data integration and problems,and then analyze the feasibility of heterogeneous data integration based on XML and Java from Java and XML technology in data model specification.Then this paper presents an overall project, which can solve the integration of different data source including the half-structured data. The paper presents a simple XQuery decomposition algorithm and validates its completeness, rightness and applicability by an experiment.The main contributions of this paper are the construction of the data integration architecture based on XML, implementation of the heterogeneous integration of relational sources and XML source. I adopt XML Schema as global data model, XQuery as global query language on the basis of traditional DTD and present a XQuery decomposition algorithm.
