With the high-speed development of telecom-communication technology, people propose advanced requirement with the mobility of terminal devices, so tranditional access techniques have become the bottleneck in the development of next generation broadband communication networks. Among the numerous burgeoning access technologies, broadband wireless access WiMAX based on IEEE802.16e not only meets people's high-speed, long-distance and wireless needs in the last Kilometer connection, but also provides sufficient mobility capacity. Therefore it has been becoming the primary of communication market recent years. The WiMAX system achieves high speed and wide bandwidth, which proposed higher demands for the network management system. With the constant adjustment of the network structure and increasing complexity of network, the traditional network management system focusing on specific standard can not meet WiMAX network requirement. Therefore, facing the burgeoning WiMAX technology, how to insure that WiMAX network is working under a high-efficient status and also improving the efficience is urgently needed to develop an advanced network management system.The object of this paper studies the WiMAX features and realizes such anadvanced network management system——OAM which meets the needs of usermanagement. The solutions are given seperatly from the function requirement, communication mechanism, interface design and transformation process of system state machine by the reaserch on WiMAX Access Controller and relative technologies. Based on above designs, the flow design and implementation process of OAM keyfunction module——message router, XML message parse module and softwaremanagement module are discussed in detail. In software management module the partition switching and profile migration algorithm are also presented. Finally, the improvement upon system is made and the resolution to dynamic software recovering mechanism is been implemented and deployed to the OAM system.
