All the time, the nation has been paying much attention to the health problem of teenagers and classifies school sports as important content.Among all kinds of sports items of school,middle distance race is an important standard of scaling student's physi cal quality.But the testing of this item expends much time and labor.Through the anal ysis of the current timing methods for campaign,including artificial timing,optical meth od and radio frequency indentification,there is a little shotage that artificial timing is 1 ow precision and serious personal behavior,that optical method can not identify the in dividual.However,radio frequency indentification have many merits,such as good adapta bility, high reliability,conflict prevention,short reaction time,multi-target individual identi fication.Nowdays,radio frequency indentification has been extensively used in many do mestic and foreign fields,for example, public transport,ticketing system,access control,an imal identification,electronic payment and warehousing management.Futher more,the inst ances of radio frequency identification applied in sports items are obviously increasing in home and aboard,and radio frequency identification have a broad prospect.By com parison of some timming products, considering the factors on application environment, the cost and the complexity of the system,the paper takes radio frequency identificati on technology as the core, and adopts wireless electronic label mode of non-contact lo ng distance to record the timing time of testing object.Firstly, the paper describes the structure of the whole system,analysising the feasi bility of the system from both factors on terminal timingand terminal recognition scop e.Secondly, the paper makes a detailed instruction about basic theory about radio frequ ency identification,involving 4 aspects: base-band coding,multiple access,data security a nd data integrity.Moreover, the paper elaborates on specific hardware circuit,PCB layou t,software process and circuit debugging procedures. The key to the whole system lies in the label identification, and the workflow ca n be sketched: Only the testing object arrives terminal point, can he comes in to the rang of received area of antenna, the receptor inquiry card signal and acquire card nu mber periodically (period is 0.1s), at the same time, according to the information of l abel transmitted, record the testing object's time information and residual cycle informa tion, and complete the work of automatic identify, automatic cycle report and automati c timing.
