The electronic compass is widely applied as navigation instrument and attitude sensor. High precise electronic compass plays a realistic role in improving navigation positioning technology and in the development of aviation, navigation and national defense.This article is about a software integration design of electronic compass on the premise that it is completed in the hardware design. Firstly, In order to achieve the basic functions of electronic compass, The Control and calculate Center of the circuit, TMS320VC5402 DSP chips was programed to complete the collection, filtering, calculation and transmission depended on circuit's particular scheduling; Next, The theoretical analysis and algorithm research for Rectification of Ortho-error & gain error in the 3-D orthogonal magnetic axis make physically difficult to achieve operation to be settled through the software algorithm compensation, and improving the accuracy of electronic compass; Lastly, we use VB to set up a testing and demonstration platform for the electronic compass. On one hand, the platform makes intuitionistic and real-time show angle information from electronic compass; on the other hand, we put a relatively large amount of calculation of Ortho-error & gain error in the 3-D orthogonal the magnetic axis realization into the PC to complete, then parameters automatic back to electronic compass. Meanwhile, we also designed a uniform rotation platform, and by comparing the rotary angle and the show of the testing and demonstration platform. It is very easy to carry out testing and demonstration of electronic compass.Numerous tests on experimental platform prove the feasibility and practicality of this perfect designe, and provide reference for the future to further improve.
