The main content of this thesis is the studies about the simulation system of underwater target visualization. This system will provide reliable data source for the underwater target recognition. In this thesis, the research is concentrated on the common underwater military object such as mine, torpedo and submarine. For the particularity of the underwater environment, the sound wave is the most effective media for long-distance propagation of underwater information. So the target echo characteristic is important evidence for visualization. Based on the acoustic theory and according to the different acoustic scattering feature between far field and near field, the target echo characteristic is simulated by different ways in this thesis.Under the condition of far field, the echo simulation of underwater target is implemented with their highlight parameters, which is calculated by making use of the highlight model theory and the method of "stabile phase integrate". It will present a kind of data source for the underwater target recognition from the wave of time domain.Under the condition of near field, the single-beam sonar imaging simulation based on 881A and the multibeam sonar imaging simulation based on SeaBat8125 are realized using modified physical acoustic method and object-oriented programming technique in the Visual C++ environment. Furthermore, the image as simulation result can be saved and added noise on it.For meeting the various data need of underwater target recognition, optical imaging simulation that imitate underwater camera under ideal situation, is carried out under the drawing environment of OpenGL with the models of mine, torpedo and submarine, which are set up in the 3D figure software. The simulation result of this thesis is helpful for underwater target detection and recognition, and useful for the study of new recognition method.
