| Nowadays, in wireless communication area, WMAN (Wireless Metropolitan Area Networks) technology plays more and more important role in the world. As a broadband wireless access scheme for WMAN, WiMAX has received primary concern because of its outstanding system performance and wide market outlook. For WiMAX, IEEE draws up a series of 802.16 standards. The 802.16 standard increases the achievement, so it will provide more application.The paper mainly uses 802.16d for reference. Next, the 802.16d MAC protocol is discussed emphatically, especially MAC common part sublayer, and then various generic scheduling algorithms which are used in wired and wireless network are introduced. According to the comparison of the existed scheduling algorithms in wireless network, we optimize the I-CSDPS algorithm, then design an efficient class-based I-CSDPS service scheduling strategy for 802.16d MAC protocol. It is proposed to solve the problem of mixed quality of service. At present, WiMAX doesn't specify the simulation platform in detail, so it's a meaningful topic to realize the framework of the 802.16d MAC based on OPNET. An OPNET simulation platform is developed partly, and the performance of the key functions evaluated via simulation examples. |
