Over the recent years, with the development of communication technology and people's incresing demand for network communication, tradiational wired networks cann't meet people's need. They hope that they would communicate with anyone quickly and precisely anytime and anywhere.802.11 based WLAN and 802.16 based fixed broadband wireless access are two typical examples in this development. There is a problem when using them commencially on large scale, that is the coverage of system is very small. While in broadband communication, the base station and user station usually transmit on sight of distance, but because of the abstacles such as trees and buildings, many user stations cannot communicate with the base stations effectively.Mesh networks based on 802.11s, with the structure of ad hoc, is a new type of networks which is developed from the traditional WLAN. Although the range of nodes' transmission is limited, they can increase the coverage by multi-hop.The lab cooperated with Hua Wei Company and took part in the process of making standard directly. As the important part of research project, this paper is the conclusion of the work done. My work is tracking, analyzing and estimating the agreement. In this thesis we introduce the mesh networks based on 802.11s, the proposed MAC protocol, and the advangages and defects. Based on these, we focus on multi-channel MAC protocol base on multi-transceiver, simulate the protocol, and then compare with the functions of protocol through simulation. We give a qualitative analysis on the differences of these functions. Finally, based on the results of analysis and simulation, we propose a multi-channel assignment proposal based on multimedia, discuss the improvement of the primitive multi-channel mechanism, and compare the simulation results. At last, the thesis is conclued and future work is proposed.
