Wireless Sensor network, which is made by the convergence of sensor, nested computation, networks and wireless communication technologies, is a novel technology about acquiring and processing information。It is a late-model wireless networks of infrastructureless network and can be used for testing, sensing, collecting and processing information of monitored objects。WSN is a new research area and has a wide application future. Both academia and industries are very interested in it。Wireless sensor networks have different features comparing traditional networks。The sensor nodes have very limited energy supply, which greatly the research on routing protocols for WSNs。Routing protocols for WSNs computer influences have some new characters, and bring different design principle to researchers。So existing routing protocols for computer networks do not fit wireless sensor networks well, and new energy-efficient routing protocols should be proposed。First, in this dissertation, the conception and key technologies of WSN are introduced briefly, and some applications of WSN and structure of the networks are covered. Then we give the classification of the routing protocols for WSN and summarize the characteristic of routing protocols, Specially we analyse merit and demerit of them。Second, the paper assimilates excellent ideas of having existing routing protocols and design a hierarchical routing protocols based on clustering (HRPBC), which is suitable for large scale WSN。Its basic ideals: biggish clusterings is formed in terms of the most communicating capability of sensing nodes, then these isolated clusterings is linked by "gateway",which is selected by cluster head, this make the whole network connectivity。thus the limitation of networking scale is avoided,in addition, this protocol have the merit of low energy wastage and good expansibility。Third, we realize and simulate HRPBC routing protocol in NS2。Based on simulation result,we contrast HRPBC to directed diffusion: HRPBC have better performance in average energy wastage, node death ratio, packet send-received ratio and the lifetime of sensor networks, the trend of better performance is more obvious in average transmission delay with the with the augment of networking scale。in a word, HRPBC have good synthetical performance, furthermore, networking scale can be expanded at will。...
