Zheng Zhenduo was not only a famous litterateur in modern Chinese literary history, but also an outstanding editor and publisher in Chinese editorial and publishing history. He has produced fruitful works and made predominant achievement in editorial field, creating abundant spiritual wealth for us. All through his lifetime, he spent more than 40 years engaging in editing and publishing, which made him sophisticated in this field, and a unique character and a view of editing and publishing. With the deep influence of his thoughts political and literary, he raised his own ideas and proposes about the editing and publishing of publications such as newspaper, journals, series, antique catalogs and ancient books. The features of his editing and publishing ideas are systematic, dynamic and compatible. His ideas about editing and publishing have great referential significance for today's editorial and publishing industry: i.e. we should have a sense of historical and cultural responsibilities; study hard to achieve proficient specialty skills with editing quality improved to excellence; eliminate malignant competition and establish regulatory book market; and stick to the principle of "the social benefit comes first", trying to pursuit the optimized combination of the "two benefits".
