IP backbone network of JiLin is a hierarchy which connects with local network of 9 cities and national backbone network. The main function of IP backbone network of JiLin is transferring bulk of IP packages expeditiously between the local and national hierarchies. With the fierce growth of IP broadband access and application, the IP backbone network of jilin accumulate many deficiencies, e.g. the rapid bandwidth burning of Jilin backbone network's gateway to national backbone network. So the optimization of Jilin backbone network was put forward in order to accommodate developing IP portfolios of Jilin NetCom in future.The basic task of network's optimization is laying out the structure model first. Three loops around ChangChun and Jilin city make up of present jilin backbone network's structure. The new restructuring scheme that the every local node which combined of 2 routers connected separately with changchun and jilin nodes was adopted through analyzing the deficiencies of present loop model. The new structure is also called the twin-star structure model. Some less-performance routers will be upgraded for considering better security and processing. The replaced equipment and module will be reused for protecting the past investments. After the configuration of routes and links was completed this project can be finished. Considering the investment is huge ,the investment analysis is a big part of feasibility analysis .In the thesis, we can conclude that the project show good at financial aspect by providing concrete figures. This treatise comprise 6 chapters:The first chapter is exordium. This chapter introduced the Jilin backbone network's whole circumstances and history. The main IP protocols adopted by Jilin backbone network are BGP and OSPF. OSPF that is the abbreviation of"Open Shortest Path First"is a kind of dynamic routing protocol based on link state algorithm. Adjacency is an advanced relationship between routers that they can exchange link state data, and the routers will be in full state once their databases are identical. Then the routers will get a graph of the area topology. At last each router calculates its own shortest-path tree and forms the routing table. BGP that is the abbreviation of"Border Gateway Protocol"can be divided into IBGP (Interior Border Gateway Protocol )and EBGP (External Border Gateway Protocol).The most important work of BGP routers is not to calculate but select routes, i.e. the BGP routers decide the best BGP routes by BGP routing attributes.The 2nd chapter analyze the requirement and necessity. The promotion of stability and efficiency, and expanding the bandwidth are concerned first in this project construction. The present topology exists the following problem: First, the other local networks exclude ChangChun have only one connection with backbone gateways, without alternative link .Second, the bandwidth bottleneck will happen frequently in the loop topology. Third ,the scarcity of flexibility and clarity will influence the development of portfolio. The bandwidth of gateway to national backbone is 40Gbit now, there is need to expand to 80Gbit.This chapter also present some passages to evaluate the economic value of building such a project. financial analysis. The investment analysis proved that the feasibility of this project is optimistic. The 3rd chapter describe the design of optimization. Nine city's node will connect with gateway of changchun and jilin city in the form of twin-star topology replacing of present loop structure, set up the 1+1 protection. The CRS-1 that is new generation CISCO routers will be inducted at changchun because of importance of changchun gateway.The 4th chapter introduce the integral implementation programming including gunter map and cut-off process.The 5th chapter introduce the engineering scheme and operation of the project. The first step is reconstructing and expanding of JiLin backbone network The second step is configuration of routing policy. The three step is adjustment of data package flux. During the whole project, lay stress on the 2 gateways of JiLin backbone to national backbone, because ChangChun and JiLin node are core node in the JiLin backbone. The reconstructing of backbone network accompanies the modification of local network. After the implementation of project, the structure of local network consists of two types ,one is that the core routers of local network are also playing a role of backbone converging router, i.e. no dedicated backbone node router, the other is that the core routers of local network connect with backbone node router at the same city. The routing policy is that BGP is adopted among backbone nodes and OSPF is adopted among the local network.The cut-off operation will obey the following rules: avoidance of stoppage of serving at maximum; making the complete; scheme of planning ,testing preparing the fallback steps for recovering the original configuration when failure happens.The 6th chapter gives a conclusion. This project is a typical example for operator-class network optimization, and will be a reference for the like building or reconfiguration of network.
