Infrared imaging technology, as a new tool to be used to research and explore nature, along with it's development,has became a effective technology to monitoring the equipment.As a removed non-contactfand real-time technique,infrared online monitoring obtain the status messages of equipment rapidly,so that we can repair it in time.But because infrared thermal image have less definition than visible light image and people usually hope to observe information including infrared and visible light synchronously. Image fusion, an important technique in computer science field and image information field, provides an effectual means of realizing it.In this paper,digital Image fusing technology was combined with the infrared online monitoring system. The thermal radiant energy distribution of equipment was show in infrared image, and the accurate figure and position was show in the visible light image. The information area fusing of infrared image and visible light image increase the accuracy of searching equipment malfunction point greatly.Based on the previous image fuse research, infrared and visible light image registration was the most important part in the application of infrared online monitoring system. Image registration was the key technology in image fuse. It was the precondition and foundation of image fuse. The efficiency of Image registration may decide the result of Image fuse.The final target in this paper was realize infrared and visible light image registration.Through the research of all kinds of Image registration techniques,an efficient, practical, convenient and easy-realization Image registration plan was presented.And besides,we realize the registration result by the VC++ programme.Six chapters were written in this paper to explain the infrared online monitoring system.At first,we use two independent chapters to explain the basic principle of infrared online monitoring and Image fuse technology. The composing scheme of this monitor system was presented. The selecting reason of fusion hierarchy and image fusing methods were depicted. At last the fused images with infrared and visible image were displayed.In the fourth and fifth chapters, the principle of image registration and the processes of our registration system were depicted. Through the contrast and analysis of many experiment results, a practical and doable infrared and visible light image registration plan was finally presented.All the work in this paper establish foundations for the final integration research of monitoring system.
