Research On The Integration Of 3G, WLAN And WiMAX

The technology of wireless mobile communication has made quiet great progress. Mobile communicaton has brought profound transform to the life of people. The development of wireless communication technology shows that all flowers are in bloom. This will lead to the coexistence and integration of networks. The coexistence of many technologies will be long time. In the evolvement of these technologies they will drive and compete mutually. This paper introduced the standardization works of 3GPP and IEEE802.21 group in network integration and mainly researched the integration of 3G(Third Generation PLMN), WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) and WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network). Researched many kinds of shcemes and integrating the merits of those schemes, this paper proposed a framework for integration of three networks, and explored the shceme for seamless roaming in the three networks. Finally, this paper modeled the scheme using OPNET.
