With the wide application of the optical fiber communication, an auxiliary mean of power communication in the electric power system is transformed from power line communication (PLC) gradually. Many carrier channels of the high voltage transmission line have replaced by fiber channels. The energy loss is increased and the power transmission capability is limited because of vast free traps.In this thesis, the PLC channel attenuation algorithm is optimized and the GIS data model and structure is constructed with analyzing the characteristic of the PLC channel. A calculating method of the optimal PLC signal attenuation route is put forward through the network analysis function of GIS. The analyzed software of the removing power line traps is designed and realized. The scientific basis is proposed in the research findings for removing free line traps in grid. The management level of PLC communication facilities is increased. At the same time, the instructive significance for power line traps removing entirely and economic efficiency of power system are processed by the research result.
