Metamodel And Its Application In Unified Data Interchange Platform

There are some problems at the process of developing ETL system. One of the most typical problems is the confusing management of metadata. As for this problem, a new idea is proposed for developing ETL system—the ETL's development based on the CWM.In this article, firstly the function of metadata is analyzed in the DW system, and the commander's role of metadata is confirmed in the ETL. Secondly, the contents of CWM are researched and the framework of unified data interchange platform is analyzed. Then, our idea of designing the UDIP_ETL process is proposed on the basis of the CWM. Further more, metadata management framework is designed, and metadata acquirement, meta-database and metamodel are implemented.
