Design & Development Of Multimedia Applications In Embedded System

Embedded system is a computer system based on computer technology and designed for special use. It has strict requirements in function, security ,code size, memory ,low power etc.In pervasive computing time, embedded system is widely used.The design & development of embedded system has its own characters, it depends on both hardware and software techniques. The progress of software development technology is crucial.The handset system is an important embedded system application.The multimedia application function in handset becomes stronger now ,and it calls for more progress in the development of multimedia applications in handset.This thesis is based on the practice in handset applications development in a company software center,It mainly deals with the design & development in handset multimedia applications.After a brief introduction of the architecture of handset hardware and software, it focus on the design & development of multimedia applications.In the design phase, the main architecture and module organization of handset software system are firstly introduced, then from bottom to top, the function,design,techniques and data structure of MME(MultiMedia Engine),MRM (Media Resource Manager) and Media Center modules and applications are analysed. It is organized according to the development process,the techniques of coding, complie, debug, test and problem resolvation are also dealed with.Efficient team work and SCM(Software Configuration Management) are also important for the success of development, as is discussed in this thesis too.In the conclusion part, the contents of this thesis are summarized , and the aims for further study in embedded system software development are putforward...
