The global wireless communications has entered a high-rate broadband multimedia and real-time data application age. The Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology can dramatically increase the channel capacity. As a result, the whole communications field generally believes that the MIMO will become one of the key technologies of the next generation mobile communications system. There is more and more domestic and foreign scholars' attention focused on it. In this dissertation, we mainly focus on the topics of channel estimation, space-time coding and frequency domain equalization. The main contents of this dissertation are expressed as follows:Firstly, MIMO frequency selective fading channel estimation is researched. Based on likelihood criteria and least square (LS) theory, channel estimation is achieved by sending training sequence, the simulation performance is also given;Secondly, the space-time block coding for frequency selective channels with two transmitting antennas is studied and the space-time block coding with two transmitting antennas is improved. The single carrier frequency domain equalization (SC FDE) associated with the improved space-time block coding is used in the MIMO demo system of four transmitting antennas;Thirdly, contraposed the characteristic of the arithmetic of channel estimation, the best realization scheme is selected. Based on different principles, the different modules are realized. The fit module is selected after compared these modules;At last, the Frequency-Domain Equalization modules of four transmitting antennas and two receiving antennas are realized. Contraposed the characteristic of these modules, the best module is selected.
