As the combination of Multiple-Input Multiple-Output(MIMO) and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM), MIMO-OFDM not only increases the system capacity with high speed transmission, but also makes the system tolerance of noise, interference & multi-path fading improve greatly, thus it's a key technique for 4G. Paper studies techniques to reduce peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR) of space-time block code(STBC) MIMO-OFDM, and simulations are done in MATLAB.Principle of MIMO-OFDM, space-time coding rules & types are introduced in the beginning. STBC & differential STBC(DSTBC) are analyzed in detail, redundancy introduced differential STBC(RI-DSTBC) is studied specially, and various codes are simulated. Performance of STBC MIMO-OFDM is studied and simulated in particular.Then PAPR of MIMO-OFDM is analyzed, and the methods of PAPR reduction are described. In which, concurrent selective mapping(C-SLM) to decrease PAPR is studied, and then improved method for the processing of side information is presented, simulation is done for STBC-MIMO-OFDM, and the results show that the improved method is feasible and efficient.Concurrent partial transmit sequences(C-PTS) is exploited to decrease PAPR too, and improved algorithm for the selection of weighting factors is proposed. Simulation is done as well, and it's proved that new algorithm decreases the computing complexity greatly at the expense of little degradation of performance.The improved C-SLM and C-PTS methods studied in the paper, are efficient to reduce PAPR of STBC MIMO-OFDM, and the author hopes the paper was useful for the practicality of MIMO-OFDM.
