VTS Computer-Aided Design System Essential Technology Research

With the economy and trading develop sharply, the traffic on the sea becomes busy day by day. The sailing security of ship becomes more and more important. VTS system is one of the most available methods for protecting the safety of navigation, heightening the efficiency of shipping and protecting the environment of the sea. With the fast constructing of water safe basic establishment, the construction of VTS becomes rapider, and the design period becomes shorter. Now the existed methods couldn't meet the demand of devisers to finish the design with hign quality in limited time. Computer-aided design (CAD) is a technique which is used to design engineering project, calculate the result and optimize decision-making based on computer system, and has been used in many scopes such as roadway design, port design, sea-route design and etc. For the above reasons, using CAD technique to advance the scientific and canonical character of VTS design work is valuable and practicable. It is also a useful work to improve the quality and efficiency of the VTS project design work.This thesis is based on the works of former researchs. Facing the concrete demand of actual project, the paper studies the basic principle and implementing method of using CAD technique to assist VTS design work.Based on the investigation of some VTS systems in our country, the paper demonstrates the necessity and feasibility of using CAD technique to assist VTS design, by analysing and discussing current design method. Then, combining the experience of design practice, the paper does in-depth research of design principle for selecting the technical indexs of Radar, VHF communication and digital microwave equipment, and presents the implementing scheme and flow chart.
