On the basic study of model free control principle, three improved design methods, which are generalized model free control, double-rate sampled model free control and model free control based on genetic algorithm, are proposed according to the shortage of basic model free control method in this paper. On this basis, the new control algorithms are applied in representative object, main steam temperature control and drum water level control of power plant. Compared with basic model free control method, simulation results show that the proposed control method has stronger robustness, nicer anti-jamming capability and better load adaptability.In addition, profound analyses and comparison have been made on model free control and conventional PID control. Simulation shows that model free control is obviously better than PID control on the ability of traceability, adaptability, anti-interference and against large time-lag.
