RTU is remote terminal control system. It has the following characteristics. Thefirst is communication long distance,and the second is that RTU is usually useful forvarious harsh industrial site. So RTU always has the problem which is large time delayand strong interference.For large time delay, time-varying, strong interference and strong coupling and soon nonlinear system, Model-free adaptive control has a unique control function, and itcan be used to solve large time delay and strong interference inthe RTU. However, when Model-free adaptive control is interfering signals and it isapplied to large time-delay system, Model-free adaptive control has large overshoot andlong adjustment time. And this is Model-free adaptive control’s problem which needs tobe solved.On the basis of Model-free adaptive control, for the basic model-free adaptivecontrol’s problem, the paper put forward Improved Model-free adaptive control. Andthrough a instance of RTU, it conducts the simulation verification. Compared toModel-free adaptive control, Improved Model-free adaptive control obviously has abetter ability of anti-interference and a better ability of overcoming the large time delay.And RTU has smaller overshoot and shorter adjustment time. It solve the Model-freeadaptive control’s problem which is large overshoot and long adjustment time in theRTU.
