Design Of Frontend Driver Of DVB-S Setbox

Digital Television is the system used to transport, receive, process, record, and control digital TV signals. Set-top boxes receive and transform digital TV signals into the signals that analog TV sets can display, which can make the users of analog TV sets enjoy the merit of digital TV. So, set-top box is an important product driving digital TV industry during current analog TV and digital TV coexistence period.The DVB-S transmission system of satellite transmission is introduced in this dissertation. The tuner fronted is DSF8921 of Thomson, so the inner Stv0299B chip of QPSK demodulator is emphasized. Linux is the operation system of the set-box. And the design of linux device is introduced. The tuner of DSF8921 which is the essential part of the frontend, it's specification is also demonstrated. The tuner is controlled by cpu via I 2 C bus. The realization f I 2 C is also introduced.
