Passive acoustic detection technology is an important method for military investigation.This paper mainly researches the eletronic sentinel system based on this technology. The passive acoustic localization algorithm with arrays and time delay estimation algorithm are studied.Finally, the software and hardware design of the passive acoustic localization DSP system is dissertated.The research results in this thesis are listed as follows:First, array design and time delay estimation(TDE) algorithm are two key technologies of the whole research.In this paper, two arrays of interest are studied:plane square and plane circular array.The localization theory and algorithm of the two arrays are studied, and their direction accuracies are also analyzed.Then, several typical TDE algorithm are studied.This paper is mainly focused on the adaptive TDE algorithm, including LMS,varying step LMS, frequency domain adaptive TDE, ETDE (Explicit Time Delay Estimation) and adaptive FIR TDE algorithm. The theory and performance of these algorithms are researched.Last, the hardware and software design of the passive acoustic localization system based on DSP is mainly introduced, including the choice of chips using in the systenu design of the circuits, design and debugging of software and hardware, and validate the correctness of software and hardware.
