Ultra wide band(UWB) wireless communication is a new communication technology. In order to develop an effective and reliable UWB communication system, we must establish the reasonable channel model for the application environment, then can do the demonstration, design and realization of the: system project. For the foundation of the reasonable channel model, we need actual measurement in the application environment, and derive the needed channel model via earnest analysis of measurement data.This paper mainly researches the train of thought and method of founding channel model from measurement data at outdoor environment, bases factual measurement data and gives the corresponding channel model. It main content is as follows:It introduces the theory and method of UWB channel measurement.It primarily discusses the thought and method of extracting channel propagation characters from measurement data, including prior channel data disposal; analysis of pathloss, shadow fading, impulse response and structure of multipath power profile corresponding to the impulse response; researching attenuation character of multipath intensity, statistical character of multipath components arriving time and rms delay spread, mean excess delay and multipath number; demonstrating the extracting method of channel characters such as rms delay spread, mean excess delay and multipath number.It gives the corresponding channel model, including pathloss model, shadow fading model, structure of multipath power profile, statistical character of multipath components arriving time and parameter of channel model. Then through the computer simulation analysis, proves the rationality of the model, reflects the validity of the method.
