With the development of society and the improvement of standard of living, vehicle driver's training becomes more and more important. However, the corresponding condition is that the driver's training industry remains very poor in our country. How to standardize vehicle driver's training industry, and to raise the efficiency of training is a hotspot to research.Ontology, which provides shared semantic for different systems, is a hot topic of IT research in these years. The topic of this dissertation is to develop a domain ontology of vehicle driver's training industry. The ontology Concepts and relations between concepts in the vehicle driver's training domain are explicitly defined. The ontology explicitly defines concepts and relations between concepts in the vehicle driver's training domain, eliminating different semantic meanings, so the domain knowledge can be shared and reused between applications. The ontology contains the concepts of instanceity of driver, including physiological and psychological concepts. This lays a good foundation for self-conditioned vehicle driver's training system. The experience of the development of domain ontology can be used in other domains.The main contributions of this dissertation are as follows:(1) With the help of domain specialists, an ontology of vehicle driver's training system has been developed based on"The Vehicle Driver's Training Education Outline of the Republic of China". It uses RDF model to describe activities and basic principles in the vehicle driver's training domain. This can standardize the training industry and the current teacher-prentice education style can be changed. This can also lay foundation for sharing and reusing of domain knowledge.(2) Concepts of the driver's instanceity are contained in the ontology. This makes vehicle training system be able to self-condition. The training system can provide education scenario for student according to his physiological and psychological condition and his learning condition.(3) We take the idea of modularity, which has widely been adopted in software engineering, in the development of domain ontology. The ontology is organized in the way that there are several modules merged in it. This method not only eases ontology development, but also helps to realize knowledge sharing, reusing and maintenance of ontology.(4) Method libraries, including inference method libraries and edit method libraries are developed. They help applications and domain specialists to access the ontology. Data mining techniques are used to find association rules between concepts as ontology extension rules used by inference method library.
