Access network is an important part of telecom network. As extensive application of new technique, the optic access network gradually replaced the traditional pure double wring copper cable access network. Nowadays, the access network is mainly the integrated access with V5 interface, which can provide NB integrated services. With IP and multimedia services rapidly increasing, access network has made a further development to bandwidth and integration, which boosted prevail of the width band integrated narrow band access network. This kind of network is based on the standard platform, and it can provide multi-service integration access and uniform management to reduce the running and maintenance cost of access network.The thesis begins with introducing the access development situation. It analyzes the latest access building demands, the development trend of integrated technology,several typical kinds of network building patterns, and their technical characteristics. Through researching the existing access techniques and facilities supplied by other manufactures. We have designed the Litespan-1540, the next generation integrated access network, which focusing on the NGN (Next Generation Network).
