Nowadays, with the transmission data capacity sharply increases, so is the error rate. The forward error correction gets more and more attention. The FEC technique has applied many areas, such as digital TV, especially widely used in the electric telecommunication and optical communication. Many products adopt the FEC technique to improve the system performance. The FEC could reduce influences caused by the linear and non-linear factors in the optical channel, so in this way the transmission distance will be greatly lengthened. Now, the enhanced forward error correction method has better correction performance. From the point of view of engineering application, based on the high speed optical telecommunication OTN system data transmit reliability application request, my paper introduces a new kind of EFEC technique, and implements it on OTN network.There are three phases in this paper, they are simulation, circuit implementation and on board test.After analyzing the on board test result, the EFEC design implement method has better correction ability and could satisfy the current OTN requirement very well. Other telecommunication areas could also use this EFEC design structure and just evolve the code pattern to satisfy the correction function.
