Meander line antennas are largely studied as small antennas; this dissertation is mainly on the topics of the characteristics for meander line monopole antennas.Firstly, an inductor circuit model representation that can predict the resonant frequency of meander line monopole antennas is studied. The meander line section is equivalent to an inductor in this model, and then the equation between the resonant wavelength and the antenna self-inductance is obtained, and further the optimization method is applied to calculate the resonant frequency of meander line monopole antennas.Secondly, the equivalent inductor circuit model and HFSS software are applied to analyze the characteristic of resonant frequency when the configuration parameters of meander line monopole antenna are changed. Finally, the ascendant type of tapered meander monopole, which has a more desirable wideband characteristic and a better return loss relative to the non-tapered meander line, is studied. And then a novel double-face ascendant tapered meander line antenna is developed, the dual-sleeve method is adopted to improve the input impedance and the two tapered meander line traces connected with metallic holes is used to broaden the bandwidth. The new double-face ascendant tapered meander line antenna with double dual-sleeves operates from 1560MHz to 2110MHz with 550MHz 10dB return loss bandwidth and has a gain of 3.4dBi.
