As soon as consumer culture is flooding over the whole world, it profoundly affects our life and silently changes our way of life as well as conception of values. The aim of consumption is not to satisfy the material need of human beings any longer, but to hanker for some ceaseless artificial and stimulated desires. Within an atmosphere of consumer culture, the concepts of media entertainment also got an impact. Entertainment not only makes us laugh when we are bored, but also is endued with more and more cultural meanings and consumptive significations. Having many industries combined tightly, consumer culture promotes various kinds of consumption from those entertainment programs it produces. At the same time, it exerts a subtle influence on the concepts of media entertainment and brings some creative and innovative concepts, such as integration theory, purifying theory, industrialization theory, nativism theory as well as brand theory of media entertainment.This paper is composed of four chapters. Through reviewing the definitions, evolution and characteristics of consumer culture and media entertainment concepts, analyzing representative cases such as Super Voice Girl Contest of Hunan TV station, Kangxi is Coming of Taiwan talk show programs and entertainment news pages of southern metropolis daily, this paper studies some outstanding entertainment phenomena nowadays from the perspective of customer culture. It works out some creative and innovative concepts of media entertainment in China and tries to find out the awkward predicament we face and the possible and helpful way-out.
