The Design And Implementation Of An Ontology And Rule Inference Based Query System

Researches on ontology-based queries are current research concerns. But since the semantic expressive ability of ontology is limited to the Description Logic, being unable to express the regulative rules, the Semantic Web Rule Language (SWRL) is proposed. The research on SWRL and its application exercises a significant influence on the application development of Web Semantic.The main themes of this paper lie in the following aspects: First we analyse the current research development of SWRL and its main characteristics. Based on the analysis of previously relevant work, the framework of parser based on Jess is proposed. Then we constitutes a query system framework based on SWRL. The query ability based on ontology and rules will be finally validated through the system of university courses arrangement.This paper falls into 5 chapters. The first chapter, as an introduction, mainly introduces the research background, significance, as well as technological methods. The second chapter mainly introduces SWRL, and makes an analysis of theories of SWRL parser. The third chapter introduces the query system framework of SWRL base on SWRL parser. The fourth chapter introduces the design of query system concerning arrangements of university courses based on SWRL query system. The last chapter, as a conclusion, sums up the research work done throughout this paper, and mentions some aspects remaining unsolved or requiring further improvement.
