The multimedia mobile communication networks in the future are expected to support multimedia services (voice, video-telephone, high speed data access and mobile computing etc) over wireless infrastructures. Because of the limitation of wireless spectrum, user's mobility and self-similar characteristics of the network traffic, it takes longer to recover from congestion once it has occurred. It is more appropriate to deal with network congestion problem with the avoidance/prevention approach. HSUPA technology is one of the enhanced technologies in uplink direction during the evolution of WCDMA system, which should provide higher packet data access in uplink direction.Call admission control schemes are researched and simulated on the uplink of WCDMA cellular system based on HSUPA technology in this paper. The proposed scheme admits both voice and data services if there are available resource, and it gives priority to voice soft handoff request by the interference suppression of data services. Another proposed schemeIn chapter 1, the importance of call admission control scheme is introduced and the paper describes the development of the call admission control schemes in WCDMA cellular system. In chapter 2, the paper introduces three kinds of admission control algorithms in WCDMA cellular system, and compares their primary technology through theory analysis. Finally, the key technology of HSUPA is introduced, such as fast HARQ, Node B scheduling, etc.In chapter 3, an all admission control scheme based on HSUPA technology is proposed. The proposed scheme admits both voice and data services if there are available resource, and it gives priority to voice soft handoff request by the interference suppression of data services. Simulation results show the proposed scheme not only guarantees the higher QoS for voice soft handoff requests but also enhances the grade of service. In chapter 4, the paper proposes a resource reservation and handoff queuing-based call admission control scheme in WCDMA cellular system. In addition to reserve a small quantity of resource for handoff call, a buffer is set for real-time service handoff call instead of dynamic resource reservation. Compared with call admission control with resource...
